Who doesn’t enjoy a good ol’ fashion BBQ? I can hear the sound of burger patties sizzlin’ on the grill now. One of Josh’s absolute favorite foods is a good burger and I’ll be the first to admit, he’s makes a delicious burger from scratch.
BBQs are simple and fun, but why not add a unique twist and have a burger bar? Think about it — a burger bar. Just the two words together have my mouth watering. Yum! Doesn’t that just sound amazing?!
It’s the perfect way for the kids to help “decide” what is on the menu, and is aesthetically pleasing to the adults. I’d call that a mom win!
Our Burger Bar Musts:
- Buns … but, oh, not just any buns. Pepperidge Farm Bakery Classics Sweet & Soft Slider Buns are our absolute fave at the local grocery store! Why? I have yet to find a homemade recipe that even comes close to these. Worth every penny!
- Fresh Lettuce
- Assorted Cheeses
- Grilled Pineapple
- BBQ Sauce
- Bacon Bits
Now that your burger bar is set up, add some adorable, eye-catching details that everyone will love. I love to find ways to make the ordinary extraordinary, especially when it’s quick and easy. Sometimes adding a little extra makes a big impact. We love to use cute wraps and food tent cards for our burger bar nights! Perfect, right?!
- Green Salad
- Potato Salad
- Macaroni Salad
- Grilled Corn
- French Fries
- Veggies (*Pro Party Tip: Cut cucumber, carrots, celery and cherry tomatoes, and put them in 9 oz clear plastic cups. Top them with individual Ranch cups and treat toppers on the front of the cup! How stinkin’ cute is that?!
For dessert, we keep it light and simple with fresh cut watermelon. Yum! We cut the watermelon into triangles. Using a pairing knife, we cut a small slit into each piece and slide them onto their own popsicle stick. We’ve also decorated cupcakes to look just as good as our delicious hamburgers! Could this BBQ get any cuter?!
Oh, but it can get cuter easy! When it comes to decor for the BBQ, I decided to create a quick and easy red and white balloon garland, and a DIY tassel garland. I purchased some festive BBQ shaped balloons and, of course, some fresh summer flowers along with the most adorable printable banners and signs.
I planned ahead and set up a folding table and command hooks on the back porch that afternoon so it’d all come together faster when it was time for fun. These little pieces of decor had my kids excited for an evening of family time, which filled my mama heart with pure joy! Talk about making this mama’s heart melt!
